1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Reliable Trades website and any services provided by Reliable Trades ("we", "us", "our"), a resin driveway installation company based in Newport, South Wales.

By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or engage our services.

2. About Our Services

Reliable Trades provides resin bound driveways, resin bonded driveways, resin pathways, resin patios, tarmac driveways, concrete driveways, block paving, shingle driveways and general groundwork services to residential and commercial customers across Newport and the surrounding areas within a 15-mile radius.

All services are subject to a separate written or verbal contract agreed between Reliable Trades and the customer prior to commencement of works.

3. Quotations and Pricing

• All quotations provided are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.
• Quotations are based on information provided by the customer at the time of the survey. Any changes to the scope of work may result in revised pricing.
• All prices quoted include VAT where applicable, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
• We reserve the right to revise a quotation if unforeseen circumstances arise during the survey or installation process that materially affect the cost of the works.
• A deposit may be required to secure your booking. The deposit amount will be agreed at the time of quotation.

4. Booking and Cancellation

• Once a booking is confirmed, a start date will be agreed between both parties.
• We require a minimum of 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel a confirmed booking without charge.
• Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may result in loss of the deposit to cover preparation costs already incurred.
• We reserve the right to reschedule works due to adverse weather conditions (such as heavy rain or frost) that would adversely affect the quality of the installation. We will provide as much notice as possible in such circumstances.
• In the event we are unable to complete a booked job for reasons within our control, we will offer a full refund of any deposit paid.

5. Installation and Works

• The customer is responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the work area prior to the agreed start date.
• Any vehicles, garden furniture, or other items must be removed from the work area before installation begins.
• We will take reasonable care to protect surrounding areas, but are not liable for minor unavoidable disruption such as dust or temporary access restrictions.
• Typical installation time is 3–7 working days depending on the size and complexity of the project. This is an estimate only and may vary.
• Resin bound surfaces require a curing period of approximately 24–48 hours before pedestrian use and up to 7 days before vehicle use. The customer must observe these restrictions.
• Colours and aggregate samples are provided for guidance only. Actual finished colours may vary slightly due to natural variations in aggregate materials and lighting conditions.

6. Workmanship Guarantee

Reliable Trades offers a Workmanship Guarantee on all resin bound installations, subject to the following conditions:

• The guarantee applies to defects caused by faulty workmanship or materials, and does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, third-party interference, or normal wear and tear.
• The guarantee is valid only for the original customer at the original installation address and is non-transferable.
• Any remedial work required under the guarantee must be reported to us in writing within the guarantee period.
• The guarantee does not cover damage caused by subsidence, tree root movement, chemical spillage, or impact from heavy vehicles beyond the designed load specification.
• Other services (tarmac, block paving, concrete, shingle) carry their own separate guarantee terms as specified at the time of quotation.

7. Payment Terms

• Payment terms will be agreed at the time of quotation and confirmed in writing prior to works commencing.
• A deposit is typically required upon booking. The remaining balance is due on completion of the works, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.
• We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, or other methods as agreed.
• Late payments may be subject to interest charges in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
• Title to any materials supplied remains with Reliable Trades until full payment is received.

8. Planning Permission and SuDS Compliance

Resin bound surfacing is permeable and generally SuDS compliant under Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 (implemented in Wales from January 2019). In most cases, planning permission is not required for a resin bound driveway on a residential property.

However, planning requirements vary depending on property type, local authority policies, and the specific installation. It is the customer's responsibility to verify planning requirements with Newport City Council or the relevant local authority prior to installation.

Reliable Trades provides guidance on SuDS compliance but cannot be held liable for any planning issues arising from the customer's failure to obtain required permissions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Our total liability to you in connection with our services shall not exceed the total value of the contract entered into between us.
• We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity.
• We are not liable for damage caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather events, subsidence, or third-party interference.
• Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Insurance

Reliable Trades maintains appropriate public liability insurance and employer's liability insurance. Details of our insurance coverage are available on request.

11. Website Use

• The content on our website is provided for general information purposes only and is subject to change without notice.
• While we make every effort to ensure the information on this website is accurate and up to date, we make no warranties or representations of any kind regarding its completeness or accuracy.
• You must not use our website in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or in breach of applicable regulations.
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend or withdraw our website at any time without notice.
